The City of Tacoma and Pierce County will be having a Sister City all-star High School Baseball Team traveling To Japan this summer. This team will be representing our community in this 12th annual Sister City Exchange in Kitakyushu, & Takuma Japan. This year marks the Fortieth Anniversary of our Sister City relationship with Kitakyushu. The Tacoma - Pierce County team is comprised of high school students from throughout our area. In selecting the players, the committee considers the following. 1.) Academic level, 2.) Citizenship, 3.) Coachability, & 4.) Athletic ability. Since the beginning of our exchange players have been chosen from nearly all the high schools within Tacoma and Pierce County. The Tacoma Pierce County Sister City Cultural Baseball Exchange program continues to seek contributions to offset the costs of producing this exchange. It is our hope that corporations, companies, and private citizens will continue to support this program with their TAX - DEDUCTIBLE donations.
